Genuine friendship guides her along the journey of adventure, her compass, her laughter, the people she feels grateful for, “Friends are the most important people to me.” In the flashbacks of memories, she recalls sound of bouncing of basketball or running around the field at the backyard of grandpa’s field and memories that come to life through her storytelling.

When I asked her, what is the favorite part of the school. She said, “I love PE class, skipping rope and passing basketball around is fun!” Through the beams of light of the sunset, I saw her bouncing the ball ,celebrating and skipping. She was describing the game she played and how she is dedicated to the game. While her friend group is heading to the basketball court, although it doesn’t follow rules of real basketball game, it was her love for collaborating, building bonds with friends and sharing the joy at the moment.
Excitement They would linger in the schoolyard, no matter holding the painting brush, trying out new games or perfecting old ones.
The games didn’t stop anywhere. Whenever she went back to her hometown, a different kind of adventure awaited her. “ I remember my grandpa’s field.” She giggled. One of her favorite “games” was sneaking off to catch frogs.
Beams of sunshine shine on her shoulders, as if the light is chasing her while she runs around the field. They would tiptoe around the edges of the field, trying to spot the tiny creatures hiding among the grass. She remembers that she even managed to catch a tadpole.
But there was one unforgettable incident. After one of her “missions,” she noticed all the frogs had disappeared. She later found out her grandfather had been playing cards nearby and after the card game is finished. The frogs had unknowingly startled them all away. She remembered how funny it is to “steal” those frogs and keep them as a pet. Those smallest and silliest experiences become treasured memories when shared with friends. After years, while she came back to the hometown, those flashbacks and games that gathered people together are the most unforgettable things ever.
Time in Pomelo Bay is unforgettable for her, but soon she will be transferred to another school in another city. “ I don’t know the reason though.” It is always bittersweet to open a new chapter in another place. This chapter is fulfilled by those important people in her life, and the games she played. Shanghai, a modern city, “Shanghai is great, I really enjoy the time I spent here.” Friends will be the company as long as you still remember them. Those memories will stay with her forever—just like the frogs in her grandfather’s field, even if she doesn’t always see them.
